[1] How can I use 4, 8, 16 or more thermocouples with THERMOCOUPLE-1 peripheral board ?
Each Thermocouple-1 peripheral board provides 4 inputs. It means you can connect 4 thermocouples
to the same peripheral thermocouple board.
2 Thermocouple-1 boards can be stacked. It means you can have a total of 8 thermocouples.
The thermocouple stack can be installed on top of DAQ-2543 board.
The DAQ-2543 board can be installed on top of the microcontroller ( MINI-MAX/51, MINI-MAX/ARM, etc. ) board.
This setup will provide 8 thermocouples for your application.
If you need 16 thermocouple inputs ( 4 thermocouple boards) we offer a different approach:
DAQ-128 ( 12-bit ADC, 8 analog inputs) peripheral board operates at I2C bus.
Each board has a 3-bit address selector.
Thus you can replace a DAQ-2543 with a DAQ-128 in the previous setup.
This will give support 8 thermocouple inputs.
To provide 8 extra inputs we can use the 2nd DAQ-128 board.
2 extra Thermocouple-1 boards will be installed on top of the 2nd DAQ-128 board.
The 2nd setup can be connected to the 1st setup (Mini-MAX/ARM & DAQ-128 & 2 TC's) setup using a ribbon cable.
Theoretically you can build a setup with 64 thermocouple inputs. Peripheral parts lists of multiple thermocouple configurations:
[2] Can I use THERMOCOUPLE-1 Board as a standalone thermocouple amplifier ?
Yes, this is possible. You can use THERMOCOUPLE-1 board in almost any application or system to amplify and condition the raw voltage output from thermocouples. THERMOCOUPLE-1 provides amplification, filtering and cold-junction compensation for E, J, K, R, S and T type thermocouples. Conditioned output voltages for 4 thermocouple channels are available on a 26-pin dual-row pin header.
